I visited from late November to early December and thought it was a perfect period to visit El Salvador. Not only was the weather great, with temperatures in the low 80s Fahrenheit and no rain, but there were several holiday-themed celebrations happening. For instance, I spent a few days in the gorgeous colonial town of Ataco and was there to see the Christmas tree lighting and festival in the square, a firework show, and more holiday-themed events.
However, if you don’t mind the rain, June, July, and August are still perfectly good months to visit El Salvador. You’ll have to be prepared for a daily shower or storm, but temperatures aren’t much warmer than winter months. Remember, El Salvador is fairly close to the equator, so there’s not much change in temperatures year-round.
